Portuguese - Romantically Exciting

Traveling is a lifelong dream of many. While America is a vast country with wildly varied climates and terrains, there is so much more to the planet than the states. From the canals of Venice to the ancient temples and jungles of Asia, from the mountains of New Zealand to the Aztec Temples, from the penguins of Antarctica to the lions of Africa, the world holds unimaginable beauty and irresistible intrigue.

One of the most magnificent countries in the world is Brazil. You see, I'm a travel writer by trade. After traveling in 4 continents and spending 3 years in Africa, I came to realize just how important it is to be transparent in my communications with others. When you can speak to foreigners, it opens up a whole new, totally exciting world where everyone adores your charming accent and American clothes and hairstyle.

Knowing the native language of Brazil has always been a dream of mine. My cousin Lea lives in Brazil and I've wanted to visit her for what seems like forever. She tells me all the time about amazing festivals, street parties and half naked dancing in the streets and fabulous night life. The wilderness is unlike anywhere else and the beaches have a mystical quality and fun loving, non-judgmental vibe. In Brazil, the native language is Portuguese. To hear it spoken is titillating to the ears. There is almost a romantic, hypnotic rhythm to it, making it a truly exciting language.

I want to be able to replicate that rhythm, so I've decided to use a program that teaches the language using the transparent declarative method. That is, words are repeated and associated with images until they are memorized. Once enough words have been memorized, they can be implemented into speech.

The transparent method pushes vocabulary instead of formalities and strict sentence structure. It's important to learn the words first, and then worry about how to put them together correctly.

So far, the best example of software I can use from home and during my travels is from Transparent. Based on my experience with learning a new language, the program seems like it uses the most logical method of teaching. As an added bonus, the program comes with flash cards, software, loads of freebies and I can even return the product within 60 days if I don't like it. But, I'm sure I will! I'm going to reward myself with that trip to Brazil I'm done! Adeus!
